- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1800 - $1890 (travel nurse pay range)
- Location: Lynchburg, VA (Zip: 24501) — Virginia nursing jobs, Lynchburg healthcare
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 10, 2026 – August 8, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights — night shift orthopedic RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: LAC Resource Team — orthopedic unit, surgical recovery

Job Requirements — Orthopedic Nurse (RN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice or compact license accepted)
- BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent orthopedic nursing experience — joint replacement, fracture care, post-op ortho patients
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (night shift orthopedic nursing)
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities — Orthopedic RN Duties
- Provide high-quality orthopedic nursing care to adult surgical and post-operative patients
- Monitor patient progress, perform neurovascular checks, and document changes in condition
- Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed; manage pain control and PCA when applicable
- Assist with surgical recovery, early mobilization, wound care, dressing changes, and discharge teaching
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapy, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, home safety, and follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
