Med/Surg RN – Job Requirements (Qualifications)

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nursing)
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program
• Current Oklahoma RN license OR eligibility via the Nurse Licensure Compact (compact state license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• BSN preferred

Core Responsibilities (Med/Surg Registered Nurse)

• Develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans for adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and timely reassessments per policy
• Administer medications safely and accurately, following the five medication rights
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and pain management
• Document patient care clearly and communicate effectively with team members
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical nursing skills within scope of practice
• Participate in departmental orientation, annual in-service education, and performance improvement activities
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulatory and facility requirements
