• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,790 - $1,920 (competitive weekly pay for travel therapy)
• Schedule: Wed–Sun OR Thu–Mon (40 hours/week)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, with inpatient rehab or acute care hospital OT experience
• Valid, current Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license required (state licensure for travel OT)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA required
• Experience with discharge planning, adaptive equipment recommendations, and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Strong documentation skills in OT evaluation, treatment planning, and progress notes (EMR experience preferred)

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise occupational therapy treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards
• Assess patients’ functional status on physician orders and implement individualized OT treatment plans in the inpatient rehab/hospital setting
• Provide patient- and family-centered education, adaptive equipment recommendations, and home safety training as part of discharge planning
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, communicating OT goals and progress to physicians, nurses, PTs, SLPs, and case managers
• Complete accurate and timely OT documentation per department policies and compliance standards
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), OT and COTA students, and assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to facility infection control and safety policies
• Demonstrate professional, customer-service focused interactions with patients, families, and staff
• Maintain scheduling flexibility and collaborate with the therapy team to optimize patient care and throughput
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement projects within the rehab department
• Perform other duties as assigned related to occupational therapy and inpatient rehabilitation services
