Cardiac Stepdown RN – Travel Nurse in Morgantown, WV. 13-week contract; requires Stepdown/Telemetry experience, ACLS/BLS. Join our travel nursing team starting April 20, 2026.

Job Details – Travel Nursing / Telemetry

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Location: Morgantown, WV 26505 (West Virginia travel nursing, Morgantown nursing jobs)
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit (Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry Nurse)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (possible extension)
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (07:00 – 19:00), weekdays and some weekends
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4, flex to 1:5 in emergencies
• Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)
• EMR: Cerner (experience with Cerner EMR preferred)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
• At least 1 year of MS/Telemetry experience and 2 years in Stepdown (Cardiac Stepdown RN, Telemetry RN)
• Active West Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (pending license acceptable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry
• Experience with IV starts, peripheral and central line management, and telemetry monitoring
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references within the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Must have permanent address greater than 100 miles from facility (75–100 miles considered case-by-case)

Key Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry Nursing

• Provide focused care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures (post-op cardiac care)
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms; act on changes in hemodynamic status
• Start and maintain IVs, manage central and peripheral lines, and administer blood products
• Perform wound care, tracheostomy management, and care for surgical drains and chest tubes
• Manage post-MI patients and provide pre/post cardiac cath and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Participate in rapid response and code teams; ensure adherence to ACLS protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and infection control standards
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Cerner EMR (accurate clinical documentation)
