- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care RN / Travel Nurse
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
- Location: Dothan, AL 36301 (Dothan, Alabama travel nurse assignment)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Critical Care Unit (CCU) – 8 beds (ICU setting)
- Self-Scheduling: Yes
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Orientation: 16 hours
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU, stepdown, or PCU experience (critical care nursing)
- Active Alabama RN license or Compact RN license at time of application
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system preferred
- Must live outside a 90-mile radius from Dothan, AL
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with proof)
- Comfortable managing a variety of adult and geriatric critical care diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and diabetic cases
- Facility dress code: navy scrubs or navy bottoms with white top
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU/CCU
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
- Provide post-procedure care including post-cardiac procedures and management of A-fib/flutter and stable AMIs
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, Tridil, Dopamine, Heparin)
- Initiate and manage respiratory support (Optiflow, V-60, High Flow Nasal Cannula; familiarity with ventilator support is a plus)
- Perform central line care, PICC line management, and arterial line management
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
- Administer blood products and continuous IV sedation per protocol
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in self-scheduling processes and ensure coverage every other weekend
