• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care RN / Travel Nurse
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Location: Dothan, AL 36301 (Dothan, Alabama travel nurse assignment)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Critical Care Unit (CCU) – 8 beds (ICU setting)
• Self-Scheduling: Yes
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Orientation: 16 hours

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent ICU, stepdown, or PCU experience (critical care nursing)
• Active Alabama RN license or Compact RN license at time of application
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system preferred
• Must live outside a 90-mile radius from Dothan, AL
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with proof)
• Comfortable managing a variety of adult and geriatric critical care diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and diabetic cases
• Facility dress code: navy scrubs or navy bottoms with white top

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU/CCU
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Provide post-procedure care including post-cardiac procedures and management of A-fib/flutter and stable AMIs
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, Tridil, Dopamine, Heparin)
• Initiate and manage respiratory support (Optiflow, V-60, High Flow Nasal Cannula; familiarity with ventilator support is a plus)
• Perform central line care, PICC line management, and arterial line management
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Administer blood products and continuous IV sedation per protocol
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Participate in self-scheduling processes and ensure coverage every other weekend
