- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Hematology Oncology (16 East and West, Med/Surg Unit)
- Orientation: 72 hours (first week Mon–Fri dayshift, second week on-unit with preceptor)
- Self-scheduling: Enter preferred schedule requests before balancing and posting
Job Requirements (Oncology Nursing Qualifications)
- Minimum 1 year of current oncology nursing experience within the last 3 years (hematology/oncology experience preferred)
- Valid RN license: Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission
- Graduated from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, ONS (Oncology Nursing Society)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (Epic charting)
- Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership, one from a Charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Must comply with Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
Key Responsibilities (Oncology RN / Hematology Nurse)
- Provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic/oncologic conditions
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips following oncology and infusion safety protocols
- Respond to oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
- Monitor and interpret telemetry; manage feeding tubes, central and peripheral lines, and PICC lines
- Utilize rapid response teams and adhere to infection prevention protocols
- Float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using the Epic charting system
