Travel Hospital Pharmacist — Aurora, CO | 20-week on-site assignment. Colorado Board of Pharmacy license and BLS required. Join a busy inpatient clinical pharmacy team providing adult and geriatric medication management in Aurora (zip code 80011) with floating to Denver facilities as needed.
This travel pharmacist role offers hands-on hospital pharmacy experience across two modern facilities near Denver, Colorado. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,490 – $2,670 (competitive travel pharmacist pay)
- Location: Aurora, CO (zip code 80011) — floating to Denver facility as required
- Assignment Duration: 20 weeks (March 16, 2026 – August 2, 2026)
- Employment Type: Travel Pharmacist, On-Site, Inpatient / Hospital Pharmacy
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift: Variable shifts; pharmacy open 08:00–18:00 (Mon–Fri), 09:00–15:00 (weekends & holidays)
- Shift Duration: 10-hour days
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Colorado Board of Pharmacy (BOP) license — must be submitted with application
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association — must be submitted with application
- Minimum 1 year recent pharmacy experience in a hospital or inpatient setting (clinical pharmacy experience preferred)
- Ability to float between Aurora and Denver hospital facilities as needed
- Strong knowledge of adult and geriatric medication management, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplication monitoring
Key Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies per written physician orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital policies
- Interpret medication orders and verify appropriate, safe drug therapy for adult and geriatric inpatients
- Provide clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy review, drug information, and patient/staff consultation
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technician and support staff to maintain high standards of practice
- Support clinical, quality management, and pharmacy education programs within the hospital
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure accuracy of technician-prepared sterile products
- Prioritize and fill STAT, Now, and Routine orders in order of clinical urgency
- Monitor patient profiles for therapeutic duplication, clinically significant drug interactions, allergies, and renal/hepatic dosing needs
- Provide drug information and consultation to patients, nursing staff, and medical staff to support safe medication use
- Maintain security of pharmacy operations and controlled substances in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Stay current on new drug therapies and participate in performance improvement and medication safety initiatives
