Join a dynamic surgical team in Fargo, North Dakota as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) on a 13-week travel nursing contract. This opportunity is ideal for perioperative nurses and travel nurses who want experience in a large, Level 1 Trauma Center with 25 OR suites and a high-volume caseload (75–100 cases/day). Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,750 - $2,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Fargo, North Dakota (58104) — Fargo healthcare jobs / North Dakota nursing jobs
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts (may extend to 10 hours occasionally); call: 1 to 2 days a week and every 3 to 4 weekends; rotation to PM shift with staff
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Care Setting: Acute care, Level 1 Trauma Center — high-volume OR, robotics, and specialty services
Required Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience in a large hospital (250+ beds, Level 1 Trauma status) — perioperative nursing experience required
- Experience in acute facilities with 15+ OR suites or comparable high-volume surgical settings
- Strong background in Neuro and Orthopedic procedures; comfortable working in General Surgery
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (DaVinci preferred), navigation systems, and general surgical cases (GYN, Urology, laparoscopic, arthroscopy)
- Current RN license in North Dakota OR active Compact State RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
- Experience with electronic charting systems (EPIC preferred)
- Must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility (travel nurse eligibility requirement)
Responsibilities
- Act as circulating RN in the operating room: coordinate intraoperative care, monitor patients, and communicate with the surgical team
- Perform sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, and patient positioning for procedures
- Set up and utilize OR equipment including cautery, lasers, laparoscopic towers, arthroscopy systems, and robotic/Stealth navigation for Neuro cases
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC) and maintain complete perioperative documentation
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in rotating call schedule and PM shift rotations as required
- May float to Broadway or South University campus on rare occasions
