Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey (NJ RN license required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience required; 2 years bedside or LTAC experience highly desired
• Previous LTAC, long-term care, step-down, or critical care experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and discharge planning skills

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as needed
• Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching from admission to support continuity of care
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
• Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team for safe transitions and outcomes
• Delegate tasks appropriately and provide direction and training to ancillary staff
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed and contribute to a positive team environment
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols and promote patient and employee safety at all times
• Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC and travel nursing
