This 13-week travel assignment offers the chance to work in a Level I trauma center with 18 state-of-the-art operating rooms, supporting a broad surgical caseload including cardiac, trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, GYN, and robotic procedures. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN), perioperative nurse, surgical nurse
- Location: Kansas City, MO (zip 64132) — Kansas City nursing jobs, Missouri travel nurse opportunity
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Operating Room, Level I Trauma Center, 18 ORs
- Documentation System: Meditech (Meditech experience preferred)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (current and in good standing) — Missouri RN license or compact RN eligible candidates encouraged to apply
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience; perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Strong OR skills and familiarity with advanced surgical procedures including robotics, cardiac, trauma, and neurosurgery
- Experience with Meditech documentation or similar electronic health record systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical procedures (trauma, cardiac, orthopedic, neurosurgery, urology, GYN, robotics)
- Serve as scrub nurse or circulator as assigned; support sterile technique and instrument handling throughout procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and perioperative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech and adhere to regulatory and hospital documentation standards
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety protocols, and perioperative best practices
- Support patient experience initiatives with compassionate, patient-centered care
