Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN), perioperative nurse, surgical nurse
• Location: Kansas City, MO (zip 64132) — Kansas City nursing jobs, Missouri travel nurse opportunity
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Operating Room, Level I Trauma Center, 18 ORs
• Documentation System: Meditech (Meditech experience preferred)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (current and in good standing) — Missouri RN license or compact RN eligible candidates encouraged to apply
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience; perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Strong OR skills and familiarity with advanced surgical procedures including robotics, cardiac, trauma, and neurosurgery
• Experience with Meditech documentation or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical procedures (trauma, cardiac, orthopedic, neurosurgery, urology, GYN, robotics)
• Serve as scrub nurse or circulator as assigned; support sterile technique and instrument handling throughout procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and perioperative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech and adhere to regulatory and hospital documentation standards
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety protocols, and perioperative best practices
• Support patient experience initiatives with compassionate, patient-centered care
