Oncology RN Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (Kansas license or multi-state compact license preferred)
• Chemo Certification required (or completion of the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy through the Oncology Nursing Society - ONS)
• At least 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience
• Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncology treatment plans
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication, patient education, and organizational skills

Oncology Nursing Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other oncology treatments safely and effectively as a chemotherapy nurse
• Monitor patient responses, manage side effects, and intervene appropriately
• Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered education about treatment, side effect management, and follow-up care
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner following facility policies
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
