Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860 – $1,960
- Location: Memphis, TN 38104 (Memphis nursing jobs / Tennessee travel nurse)
- Setting: Short Term Acute Care – Level I Trauma Center
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00) – Night Shift RN / Travel RN
- Hours per Week: 36 (schedule may change during interview)
- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Med-Surg Overflow / CV Services (PCU nurse / telemetry RN)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (team nursing ratios)
- Weekend Coverage: As needed
- On-Call: As needed
- Orientation: 16 hours
Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum 2 years recent PCU / progressive care experience (3+ years preferred)
- At least 1 completed previous travel assignment (travel nurse experience required)
- Level I Trauma Center experience required; large hospital experience required
- Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (no pending licenses accepted)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Clinical skills: Telemetry monitoring, IV start, cardiac monitoring, basic critical care skills
- ADN or BSN accepted (BSN not required for this unit)
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Must live at least 100 miles from facility
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- First-time travelers not accepted
Core Responsibilities – PCU / Telemetry RN
- Provide high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients, including cardiac, pulmonary, and other complex disease processes
- Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions using telemetry and intervene or escalate as appropriate
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and cardiac-specific interventions per unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction
- Float between like units and campuses within 20 miles as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR and adhere to facility policies and protocols
- Work weekends, nights, and holidays as required by contract
