Key Requirements (ICU RN / Travel Nurse)

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Current New York State RN license (NYS RN)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care (ICU/Critical Care RN and Telemetry nurse experience preferred)
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association or RQI)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire
  • CPI certification within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to float between Med/Surg, ICU, and ED at both GGH & SSMH locations (float RN required)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; computer literate (EMR and Microsoft Office)
  • Preferred: Emergency Nurses Association certification and TNCC within 2 years of hire

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care across ICU, Med/Surg, and Emergency Department units as a Critical Care RN and Travel RN
  • Float between units to support fluctuating patient volumes and acuity at both Geneva General Hospital (GGH) and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital (SSMH)
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Participate in holiday and weekend rotations; complete 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
  • Promote a healing environment through effective communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office products for documentation and communication
