Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Blood Bank (MT/MLS, ASCP) in Farmington, CT — 13-week temp-to-perm hospital lab opportunity starting April 17, 2026.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,490 – $2,670
• Setting: Hospital Blood Bank – Lab Medicine / Transfusion Medicine
• Location: Farmington, CT (06032) — Connecticut hospital lab, easy commuter access
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (temp-to-perm opportunity)
• Start Date: April 17, 2026
• End Date: July 16, 2026
• Shift: 8 Hour Days (7:00am – 3:30pm)
• Hours per Week: 40

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of formal in-hospital laboratory experience, ideally in Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine
• MT or MLS (ASCP) certification required; Medical Technologist / MLS credentials preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Experience with EPIC/Beaker Soft Bank for Blood Bank workflows and LIS integration
• Previous blood bank supervisory or lead technologist experience required
• Demonstrated experience with scheduling, inventory/ordering, QC monitoring, equipment maintenance, and daily lab workflow
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission) and transfusion safety practices

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Blood Bank laboratory to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
• Oversee staff scheduling, supply ordering, quality control (QC) monitoring, preventive maintenance, and documentation
• Lead, mentor, and train laboratory staff including Medical Technologists and Blood Bank Technicians; promote professional development
• Manage Blood Bank testing and transfusion services using EPIC/Beaker Soft Bank and laboratory information systems (LIS)
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital standards (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission) and maintain accurate records for audits
• Participate in emergency staffing, on-call rotations, and mandatory overtime as needed for patient care continuity
• Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for non-conformances
