• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770 (Travel Nurse Pay)
• Location: Fishersville, VA 22939 — Shenandoah Valley, Virginia nursing job
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Self-scheduling: Yes
• Orientation: 24 hours

Job Requirements (PCU RN / Progressive Care Nurse)

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or progressive care/telemetry experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Virginia license or multistate compact license preferred
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Willingness to work assigned holidays per facility policy
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Fit testing required (must be clean-shaven unless exempted)
• Travelers must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• First-time travel nurses accepted

Responsibilities (PCU / Telemetry Registered Nurse)

• Provide direct patient care for adults with acute medical conditions including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary diagnoses
• Manage patient assignments at a 1:5 ratio consistent with progressive care staffing
• Perform and manage specialized procedures: feeding tube care, tracheostomy care, wound care, telemetry monitoring, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and post-cardiac procedure care
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac telemetry; follow protocols for cardiac drips (no titration) and insulin management
• Respond to rapid response and code situations in collaboration with code teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing health management
• Maintain strict adherence to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and facility safety standards
