Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 – $1,990

• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–07:30); up to 4 weeks day / 4 weeks night
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekday & Weekend Coverage: At least 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays every 4 weeks, plus at least 1–2 weekend day shifts (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks; additional weekends as needed
• On-Call: Yes
• Floating: Primary float to Heart Center Stepdown; other units as needed
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue

PCU Registered Nurse Requirements (Telemetry RN)

• Minimum 2 recent years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry nursing experience — cardiac telemetry and stepdown preferred
• Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (must be current and in hand)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record / charting system
• One supervisory reference from the past 12 months
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Ability to float and participate in on-call and weekend coverage

PCU / Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Progressive Care/Stepdown setting
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmias, and vasoactive drips
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients, post-cath lab, and post-electrophysiology (EP) lab patients
• Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs with competency
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float to Heart Center Stepdown and other units as needed; participate in on-call rotation
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC and follow hospital policies
