Cardiac Stepdown RN (Telemetry) travel opportunity in Durham, NC — seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN with EPIC, ACLS/BLS, and an active NC or Compact RN license.

Job Details – Travel Nursing (Cardiac Telemetry RN)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 – $2,080 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Durham, NC 27710 — Durham, North Carolina (Raleigh-Durham / Triangle area)
- Contract Duration: 10 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour rotating (Day 07:00–19:30 / Night 19:00–07:30)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Telemetry RN)
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry / PCU / IMCU
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
Required Qualifications – Cardiac Telemetry RN
- Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Telemetry / Stepdown RN experience (cardiac post-op care preferred)
- Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (current and in hand)
- EPIC electronic charting experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- One supervisory reference within the last year
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Core Responsibilities – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry
- Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiothoracic post-op patients, including heart and lung transplant recipients, valve replacements, and aortic aneurysm repairs
- Continuously monitor and manage patients on central and in-room telemetry monitors
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips, manage blood products, and care for central and peripheral lines
- Care for patients receiving oxygen therapy, chest tubes, pacemakers, epidurals, and PCA pumps
- Float to PCU/Stepdown/IMCU as needed to support unit staffing and patient safety
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and facility policies for infection control
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and complete required e-learning modules and competency checks
