Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)
- Experience in LTAC, acute care, or similar settings preferred
- Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care is a plus (preferred)
- Travel nursing experience and strong clinical assessment skills are welcomed
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, documenting findings clearly and promptly
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support long-term acute care goals
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and initiate discharge planning from admission to support care transitions
- Communicate changes in patient status to care team members to ensure continuity, safety, and high-quality outcomes
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and best practices
- Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment—strong teamwork and communication skills required
- Maintain professional growth through continuing education, competency validation, and self-study
