Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) or equivalent
- Current Patient Care Technician certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification per state or facility requirement
- Comfortable working night shifts and thriving in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine bedside patient care under Registered Nurse (RN) supervision, delivering high-quality clinical support
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), vital signs, patient mobility, and basic patient assessments
- Document care provided and maintain accurate, timely electronic and paper records
- Promote patient and staff safety by following facility protocols and infection control practices
- Support Food & Nutrition services: assist with menu management, patient meal selections, and dietary compliance
- Update and validate diet changes and menu labeling according to prescribed diets and clinical orders
- Communicate food service and patient care issues to nursing and nutrition departments
- Perform clerical tasks in the Food & Nutrition office as needed (faxing, phones, filing, inventory)
- Support trayline, food service aides, or catering operations during peak periods
- Attend departmental meetings, in-services, and required trainings
- Adhere to HIPAA, Joint Commission, and facility policies; perform other duties as assigned
