Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) or equivalent
  • Current Patient Care Technician certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification per state or facility requirement
  • Comfortable working night shifts and thriving in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and Joint Commission standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine bedside patient care under Registered Nurse (RN) supervision, delivering high-quality clinical support
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), vital signs, patient mobility, and basic patient assessments
  • Document care provided and maintain accurate, timely electronic and paper records
  • Promote patient and staff safety by following facility protocols and infection control practices
  • Support Food & Nutrition services: assist with menu management, patient meal selections, and dietary compliance
  • Update and validate diet changes and menu labeling according to prescribed diets and clinical orders
  • Communicate food service and patient care issues to nursing and nutrition departments
  • Perform clerical tasks in the Food & Nutrition office as needed (faxing, phones, filing, inventory)
  • Support trayline, food service aides, or catering operations during peak periods
  • Attend departmental meetings, in-services, and required trainings
  • Adhere to HIPAA, Joint Commission, and facility policies; perform other duties as assigned
