Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 – $1,840
• Location: Homewood, Alabama (zip 35209) — Birmingham travel nurse opportunity
• Facility: 2 West, Brookwood Baptist Medical Center
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 3x12 hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• EMR: Cerner (Cerner EMR experience a plus)
• Unit: 30-bed Med/Surg/Cardiology unit

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license holders welcome where applicable)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience; Cardiology RN experience preferred
• Strong acute care skills and clinical assessment abilities
• Ability to float within scope to nearby facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Flexible, dependable, and collaborative team player with a patient-centered approach

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and cardiology patients, including pre- and post-heart cath care
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and accurately document care in Cerner EMR
• Care for patients with chest pain, hypertension, post-op needs, and general medical-surgical conditions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and smooth care transitions
• Adhere to facility protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
• Float to other units/facilities as needed within scope, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism
