Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Location: Charleston, SC 29401 — Charleston travel nursing, South Carolina nursing jobs
- Setting: Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU), 29 beds
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, holiday rotation
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
- Charting: EPIC (experience with EPIC required)
- Facility Highlights: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CVPICU) or pediatric cardiovascular ICU experience required
- Experience with cardiovascular and pediatric patients required; pediatric cardiac nurse experience preferred
- VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) experience highly preferred
- First-time travel nurses accepted — travel RN experience a plus
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (pending license considered with proof of application)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- ACLS (AHA preferred)
- EPIC charting experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease and cardiac-related conditions in the CVPICU
- Manage post-cardiac surgery patients, including heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, and VAD support
- Deliver advanced therapies such as ECMO, CRRT, and ventilatory/cardiac support
- Monitor and care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and continuous sedation
- Administer IV vasopressors and antiarrhythmics and titrate per protocol
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, dietitians, and physicians
- Float to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown units as needed
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the travel RN assignment
