Travel ICU Registered Nurse – Neurocritical Care in Dayton, OH (45409). 13-week travel nurse contract (nights, 4x12). Seeking an experienced ICU RN with 2+ years neuro or stroke center experience to join a comprehensive stroke center and high-acuity Neuro ICU team.

- Shift: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36

- Facility Size: 36 beds, daily census of 28
- Floating: Required to float between Main, South, and North campuses (all within 15 miles)
Job Requirements (ICU RN / Neuro ICU Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital with neuro exposure (neurocritical care experience preferred)
- At least 2 years of RN experience — critical care RN or ICU RN background preferred
- Active RN license (any state accepted; temporary/compact license available) — Ohio travel nurse license options supported
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and basic rhythm recognition
- EPIC charting experience required (electronic health record experience highly valued)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Previous charge experience and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must be available to work every other weekend/holiday
- Traveler will be first to float at facility's discretion
Responsibilities (Neurocritical Care / ICU RN Duties)
- Provide expert neurocritical care for patients with seizures, strokes, neuromuscular disorders, and traumatic brain injuries
- Treat overflow ICU patients from Medical Surgical and Heart & Vascular ICUs as needed
- Manage high-acuity cases including post-neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and acute stroke
- Perform and assist with bedside procedures: EVD management, endoscopy support, bronchoscopy assistance, trach and G-tube care, central and arterial line placement
- Utilize and monitor advanced equipment: ICP monitoring, EVD, lumbar drains, EEG monitors, BIS, Train of Four
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage ventilated patients, and interpret ABGs
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions and follow ICU policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Float to other units as needed and support the nursing care team across campuses
