- Job Title: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) / GI Lab Nurse – Travel Nurse
- Location: Wheeling, WV (Zip: 26003) — West Virginia travel nursing job
- Setting: Acute Care – Endoscopy / GI Lab (5 endoscopy suites)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday (varies between 8am–4pm and 9am–5pm)
- Shift Duration: 8 hours per shift
- Call Requirements: Weekends, holidays, and weeknights on rotation (typically 3 days per month and 1 weekend per month)
- Call Response Time: 30 minutes (flexible)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS Certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Endoscopy / GI Lab experience (circulating nurse experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of endoscopy procedures and equipment (EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EMR, hemorrhoid banding)
- Familiarity with Epic charting system is a plus
- Ability to circulate intra-operatively (non-sedation circulating role)
- Must submit active driver’s license at time of application
Responsibilities
- Circulate intra-operatively for endoscopy and GI procedures (EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EMR, hemorrhoid banding)
- Provide high-quality patient care with a 1 RN per room model across five suites
- Collaborate with surgical techs, gastroenterologists, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in scheduled call rotation for weeknights, weekends, and holidays
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic and facility charting protocols
- Adhere to department dress code (scrubs provided in-house) and unit safety standards
- Complete unit-specific travel nurse orientation and competency validation upon start
