Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,810 – $2,960
• Location: Salida, CO (81201) — Colorado travel nursing / Salida healthcare jobs
• Setting: Family Birthing Center – Labor & Delivery (LDRP unit)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: May 11, 2026 – End: August 10, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6 pm – 6 am), 36 hours per week
• Weekends: Required
• Holidays: Potentially required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado
• Minimum 2 years recent LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) or Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS and NRP certifications preferred (neonatal resuscitation experience beneficial for maternity and newborn care)
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills — experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
• Ability to function independently as an L&D nurse and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Independently assess and evaluate maternal and neonatal health status throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Provide direct patient care, monitor patient and fetal responses, and implement evidence-based interventions
• Collaborate with patients, families, obstetric providers, pediatric providers, and the healthcare team to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Assist physicians with procedures, respond to emergencies, and support the team during high-acuity situations
• Educate mothers and families on wellness, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery — act as a patient advocate
• Document all care, assessments, patient education, and communications accurately and timely in the medical record (EMR)
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly Family Birthing Center environment and support quality improvement initiatives
