Travel CVOR RN — 13-week contract in Washington, DC (20010) at a high-acuity, Level I trauma center specializing in advanced cardiovascular surgery. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,280 – $2,400
- Location: Washington, DC (Zip: 20010) — Washington DC travel nurse job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Options: Day (06:30 – 19:00) or Evening (11:00 – 23:30); 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts per week
- On Call/Weekend Requirements: 6 calls per 6-week schedule; one weekend or holiday per 6-week schedule
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics — high-acuity cardiovascular and trauma patients
- Parking: On-campus parking available
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience as a cardiovascular operating room nurse / perioperative RN, including circulating and Level I trauma experience
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment (preferred for travel nurse roles)
- DC RN license (pending accepted if applied; must have active license prior to start)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred (Cerner EMR)
- Ability and willingness to float to general surgery when cardiac cases are not scheduled
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (if applicable)
Responsibilities
- Circulate and assist in complex cardiovascular surgical procedures as a CVOR RN, including CABG, valve replacements, LVAD implantation, heart transplants, endovascular and open vascular cases
- Provide perioperative care for high-acuity adult and geriatric patients in a Level I trauma center
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, radiology, pharmacy, perfusion, and lift teams to ensure safe surgical flow
- Float to general surgery when needed and support other OR teams as required
- Participate in on-call rotation and cover scheduled weekends/holidays
- Maintain compliance with facility and unit-specific training modules and credentialing requirements
