Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840
- Location: State College, PA (16801) — Travel nursing job in Central Pennsylvania, a vibrant college town near Penn State University with excellent community amenities
- Setting: Telemetry Med/Surg Unit (cardiac telemetry, acute care nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 1, 2026 – July 1, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (06:45 – 19:15), every other weekend
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania (PA)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) experience — telemetry nursing and cardiac monitoring experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Healthcare Provider)
- EPIC charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience desirable)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend; comfortable with fast-paced, acute care environments
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for Med/Surg Telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, recognize arrhythmias, and escalate concerns to the interdisciplinary team as needed
- Collect, analyze, and prioritize patient health data; involve patients and families in care decisions
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care and nursing interventions to achieve expected outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments safely, and accurately document all care provided in the electronic health record
- Evaluate patient progress, revise care plans, and coordinate discharge planning with case management and other disciplines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and interdisciplinary rounds
- Maintain current clinical knowledge, mentor peers, and contribute to a positive team environment
- Practice ethically, advocate for patients, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate leadership in prioritizing and delegating unit care
