- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- Unit: Resource Nursing Pool, ICU/PCU Float (ICU travel nurse, PCU nurse)
- Patient Ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1
- Charting: EPIC system (EPIC charting experience required)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active RN license (Virginia or Compact) — Virginia nursing license preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care experience in a large Level I or Level II facility preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Comfortable floating across multiple ICU and PCU units (may float 2–3 times per shift)
- COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must work at least one holiday during the 13-week contract
- Weekend requirement: 6 shifts per 6-week scheduling block
Key Responsibilities (ICU / PCU / Critical Care)
- Provide high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in ICU and PCU settings
- Manage IV therapy including arterial line care, central/PICC line maintenance, and blood product administration
- Initiate and maintain IVs; titrate continuous infusions and vasoactive drips
- Deliver respiratory support: ventilator management, BiPAP & CPAP management, care of intubated patients
- Administer continuous IV sedation and emergency medications per protocol
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and follow IV insulin protocols
- Perform wound care for surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacs
- Follow infection prevention best practices and hospital policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Case Management
- Adapt quickly to changing staffing needs and float as required across ICU and PCU units
