Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1820 - $1950
- Location: Falls Church, VA 22042 (Northern Virginia / Washington, D.C. area)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Expectations: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Holiday Expectations: 1 major, 1 minor holiday
- Clinical Setting: Pediatric ICU (PICU) and Neonatal ICU (NICU)
- Epic Access: Provided (Epic EMR experience preferred)
- Scrubs: Charcoal Gray or Pewter
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory care experience in PICU and NICU settings (pediatric/neonatal focus; not general PEDS)
- Valid Virginia Respiratory Therapist License (RRT or CRT accepted)
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Ability to float to general care assignments as needed
- Strong clinical skills in ventilator management and neonatal/pediatric airway support
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in PICU and NICU units
- Perform ventilator management, airway management, CPAP/high-flow therapy, and neonatal resuscitation support
- Manage workload according to RVU allocation (580 minutes assigned per 720-minute shift)
- Complete department orientation, clinical shadowing, and independent assignments as part of the onboarding process
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting using the Epic EMR system
- Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices
