We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN / ER RN) for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Olathe, Kansas. Work in a 29-bed Emergency Department that serves the southern half of Johnson County and operates as a Chest Pain and Primary Stroke Center. • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 26, 2026 – July 26, 2026)
• Setting: 29-bed Emergency Department, Chest Pain and Primary Stroke Center
• Shift: 12-hour evening/night shifts (15:00–03:30), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday: Up to 3 weekend shifts per pay period; holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Orientation: Comprehensive multi-day orientation including virtual Epic training (electronic medical record experience preferred)

Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience (within the last 12 months); preferred 2 years of ED experience
• Active Kansas RN license or multi-state compact RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, Conscious Sedation competency
• Preferred: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Experience with chest pain and stroke center protocols, triage, and rapid assessment
• Ability to care for inpatient boarders and adapt to high-volume, rapidly changing ED conditions
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and committed to positive patient outcomes

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a busy ED with average daily volumes around 120 patients
• Care for inpatient boarders and manage patient flow during surge conditions
• Participate in chest pain and stroke protocols, rapid triage, and time-sensitive interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ED team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with required certifications and departmental competencies
• Document care accurately in Epic and other electronic medical records
• Adapt to changing patient needs, critical care procedures, and ED priorities
