Job Requirements (Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications)

• Minimum 1 year recent L&D and LDRP experience in a community hospital or similar setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state as required)
• BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• ACLS and PALS (or PEARS) preferred
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (required)
• Experience as a baby nurse at delivery, neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and newborn medication administration
• Willingness to float as a helping-hands resource to other units when needed
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation limited in this Vermont area)
• Orientation: 3 days (12-hour shifts)

Core Responsibilities (Labor & Delivery Nurse Duties)

• Provide comprehensive LDRP care for laboring mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients — independent management of labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
• Serve as the baby nurse at deliveries; perform neonatal resuscitation and assign APGAR scores
• Start IVs, perform occasional lab draws, and administer newborn medications safely
• Assist PACU after C-sections, remove epidural catheters, and participate in Eat Sleep Console protocols for NAS
• Document patient care accurately using Epic and Philips Intellispace systems
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary perinatal team including CNAs, perinatal techs, and respiratory therapy
• Participate in designated call shifts (2 x 12-hour call shifts in a rolling 2 pay period timeframe) and meet holiday scheduling requirements (2 of 4 major holidays)
