Travel Psychiatric RN (Geriatric Psychiatry) – Akron, OH (44304). 13-week travel assignment; 12-hour night shifts. Provide specialized behavioral health nursing care to older adults with dementia, depression, and suicidal ideation.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
• Location: Akron, Ohio (44304) — Akron healthcare / Ohio nursing jobs
• Unit: Geropsych – BHP 4th floor (16 private rooms)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 19, 2026 – July 18, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36

Qualifications / Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent psychiatric RN experience; geriatric psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred
• Active RN license (accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE required)
• BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• CPI Blue Card (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Epic EMR experience within the past year — list Epic on your resume
• Ability to float within scope of practice (may float to Med/Surg as helping hands)
• Phlebotomy and IV management skills required
• Interview required — please list availability
• RTO limited to 7 days; no RTO during first two weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based geriatric psychiatric nursing care
• Assess, monitor, and document patients with dementia, depression, mood disorders, and suicidal ideation
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment using Centrak badges and protective services support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated mental health care
• Float to other units as needed within scope of practice
• Perform blood draws, IV management, medication administration and monitoring
• Document care accurately and timely in Epic EMR (behavioral health charting)
