Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
• Role: Med/Surg Telemetry RN / Med/Surg RN / Telemetry RN (Travel Nurse)
• Location: Columbus, Ohio (Zip: 43210)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: 11 East Rhodes Hall, General Medicine
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Weekend Coverage: Required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Floating: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Med/Surg Tele RN Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg experience required (Med/Surg RN or Telemetry RN experience preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
• BLS certification required
• EPIC electronic charting experience required
• Strong IV start and telemetry monitoring skills required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical diagnoses in a hospital setting
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
• Administer IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood products, and manage central/PICC lines
• Perform wound care, feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis care
• Use ergonomic equipment, bladder scanners, EKG machines, and other specialized clinical tools
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Float to different units within the organization as needed
• Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Participate in self-scheduling and weekend/holiday rotations
