Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) — Columbus travel nursing, Ohio nursing jobs
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Shift: Day/Night rotation, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- On-Call: Required
- Patient Ratio: Estimated 1:1–1:2 (neurocritical care, ICU RN)
- Floating: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience (neurocritical care experience required)
- Valid RN license (compact license accepted or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission)
- BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA certifications only)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Epic EHR experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Core Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality neurocritical care to adult patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, seizures, neuromuscular conditions, and post-operative neurosurgery
- Manage IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
- Administer emergency medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage continuous IV sedation
- Assist with bedside procedures such as tracheostomy care, PEG management, central and arterial line care, and EVD support
- Monitor and care for patients requiring invasive neuromonitoring (EVD, ICP), mechanical ventilation, and continuous EEG monitoring
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, Radiology, Social Work, Pharmacy)
- Maintain infection prevention practices and isolation precautions consistent with facility policies
