• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour (07:30 – 19:30)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience (Level III or IV neonatal nursing experience preferred)
• Valid RN license (compact nurse license accepted; Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system (EPIC experience preferred)
• Ability to float to different units within the organization as needed
• Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care to infants from 22 weeks gestation and above in a Level III NICU
• Manage respiratory support and ventilator settings (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) and care for infants with respiratory distress
• Administer medications using Pyxis, including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• Perform and manage procedures: arterial line management, central line care, umbilical catheter management, and IV therapy
• Care for neonates with surgical, cardiac, glucose management, and neonatal abstinence syndrome needs
• Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC and communicate with care team and families using SBAR
• Interpret and manage cardiovascular dysrhythmias and respond to neonatal emergencies
• Support gastrointestinal feeding methods and placement/management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Implement infection control measures and collaborate with multidisciplinary team (NP, pharmacy, PT, radiology, respiratory services, social work)
