Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Position: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN), Emergency Department (ED)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (near Ohio State University) — Columbus travel nurse opportunity
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
• Shift: Days, 3x12-hour (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Level I Trauma Center — Emergency Department (ED), acute care and trauma nursing
• Orientation: 24 hours

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) or Emergency Room RN experience
• Valid Ohio RN license (or valid compact RN license for Ohio)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Experience in Level I Trauma, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facilities preferred
• Comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, trauma care, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Influenza vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or charge RN)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced ED
• Perform triage, assessment, and interventions for trauma, stroke, STEMI, psychiatric emergencies, and other acute presentations
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, and monitor procedural sedation
• Provide care for ventilated patients and those with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Document care using EPIC and manage medications with Pyxis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, lab, and unit support staff
• Float to other units as required and work scheduled weekends as needed (every other or every third weekend)
• Maintain compliance with credentialing, fingerprinting, and hospital policy requirements
