Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Location: Calais, Maine (04619) — Calais, ME, Downeast Maine
• Setting: Emergency Department (ED) — Emergency Room nursing, acute care
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 24 hours per week
• Hours per Week: 24

Job Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine or authorization to practice pending licensure by endorsement (Maine RN license)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS and PALS certifications (required within six months of hire)
• At least 1 year of recent ER nursing experience required (2 years preferred); emergency nursing, triage, and acute care experience highly valued
• Excellent assessment, clinical judgment, communication, EMR/EHR documentation, and computer skills
• Ability to function independently and act rapidly and efficiently in emergency and high-acuity situations

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and quality patient- and family-centered care in the Emergency Department
• Perform triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization
• Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families
• Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations, including trauma and cardiac events
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR)
