Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090 - $2,200
• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 — Rochester, NY orthopedic nursing job; New York nursing jobs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts)
• Shift: Rotating day/evening/night (12-hour shifts); includes weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic nursing experience (orthopedic trauma, spine surgery, postop care)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — New York State required
• Telemetry experience required — monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry for orthopedic patients
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Strong organizational, clinical judgement, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality orthopedic nursing care for patients with orthopedic trauma, spinal procedures, and elective orthopedic surgical diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data to ensure patient safety and rapid intervention when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform postoperative assessments, pain management, wound care, and assist with mobility and discharge teaching
• Float to other units and adapt to changing patient acuity; work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required
• Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and professional development activities in orthopedic nursing
