Job Details – Oncology Travel Nurse (Birmingham, AL)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 – $1,840
• Location: Birmingham, AL 35211 (5 West Unit)
• Facility: 5 West – Med/Surg, Oncology, Neuro, Palliative Care
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:30 – 07:00) – Night Shift Oncology RN / Travel Nurse
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Equipment / EMR: Alaris IV pumps; EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Required Qualifications – Registered Nurse (Oncology RN)

• Active RN license (state appropriate) — Registered Nurse required
• BLS certification from AHA
• Minimum 1 year RN experience (2 years preferred); med/surg or oncology RN experience preferred
• Clinical skills: patient assessment, IV insertion, Foley insertion, NGT placement
• Comfortable floating to other units as needed (neuro, palliative care)
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, commitment, curiosity, and connection skills

Responsibilities – Oncology RN / Travel Nurse Duties

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology, med/surg, neuro, and palliative care patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Insert and manage IVs, Foleys, and NGTs as clinically indicated
• Monitor patient progress and accurately document care in EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units when required and adapt to changing clinical needs
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients, families, and staff
