Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
• Location: Birmingham, AL 35211 (Birmingham, Alabama)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:30-07:00), 3 shifts per week — Night Shift RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Site Position: Travel RN (on-site)
• No Call Requirements: None
• Unit: 4 West, 42 beds, patient ratios 5-6:1 (Medical-Surgical unit)
• EMR: EPIC (experience preferred)
• Equipment: Alaris, Omnicell
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Job Requirements (Qualifications)

• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (2+ years preferred)
• Active RN license in Alabama (Registered Nurse, RN)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Experience with post-operative assessments, pain management, wound and drain care — strong post-op care skills
• Ability to float to similar units within scope, including other facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment — ideal for travel nursing professionals

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to post-op surgery and medical overflow patients as a Med/Surg RN
• Conduct post-operative assessments and manage pain, wounds, and drains
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case managers) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and timely charting
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to facility protocols and standards of care
• Display professionalism and compassion, embodying the facility's core values
• Occasionally float to like units as needed — flexibility required for travel RN assignments
