Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 – $2,060 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: New Braunfels, TX 78130 (Texas nursing job; convenient to San Antonio and Austin)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 19, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — L&D night shift
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse, Full Time

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery, maternal-newborn, or related nursing specialty
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current RN license in Texas or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Current STABLE certification (post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization of sick infants)
• Current AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification
• Completion of annual competency verifications and travel nurse onboarding requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex maternal and newborn care in the Labor & Delivery unit (maternal-newborn care)
• Perform patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, interventions, and evaluation using the nursing process
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM/C-EFM) and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Assist with labor support, deliveries, and immediate newborn care, including neonatal resuscitation when needed
• Document patient history, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families with compassion
• Delegate and coordinate care with other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in ongoing competency validation, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives
