NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse in Wilkes-Barre, PA: 13-week Level 3 NICU assignment; 5+ years NICU experience and active PA RN license required. Join our neonatal care team and provide expert newborn intensive care in a supportive children's hospital setting.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
- Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 (Wyoming Valley / Northeastern Pennsylvania)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 26, 2026)
- Shift: Nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Unit: Level 3 NICU – Children's Hospital (neonatal intensive care / newborn intensive care)
- Type: Travel, On-Site (travel nursing job / travel NICU RN)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; no call required
Key Qualifications (NICU RN Requirements)
- Minimum 5 years of NICU nursing experience required; Level 3 NICU experience required
- Active Pennsylvania RN license (compact license not accepted unless PA active)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- STABLE certification
- BLS (AHA) certification
- Strong neonatal clinical assessment, ventilator and line care skills; experience with high-acuity newborns
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet the needs of NICU patients (neonatal care)
- Deliver compassionate, family-centered care to newborns and support families through critical care situations
- Promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve the highest level of care, safety, and satisfaction
- Coordinate patient care and collaborate with multidisciplinary NICU teams, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants
- Ensure meticulous documentation, adhere to NICU protocols, and maintain high standards for patient safety and infection control
- Provide bedside care for high-acuity infants, including respiratory support, central line management, medication administration, and emergency response
