- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 – $1,990
- Location: Durham, NC 27710 – Durham, North Carolina nursing job in a growing healthcare community
- Contract Duration: 10 weeks (April 20, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing
- Unit: Cardiology PCU (31 beds, daily census 27) — Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry Nurse role
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 recent years of PCU/Telemetry experience; cardiac telemetry or progressive care experience preferred
- Active NC RN license or Compact RN license in hand
- ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be current at time of submission)
- EPIC charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred; previous charge or leadership experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- One supervisory reference within the last year required
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the PCU with a focus on cardiac conditions and telemetry monitoring
- Manage patient assignments of approximately 4–5 patients per nurse depending on acuity
- Perform and manage advanced cardiac therapies and monitoring (e.g., TAVR post-care, cardiac drips, invasive lines, telemetry interpretation, post-cardiac surgery management)
- Administer medications, manage IVs/infusions, and monitor patient responses and hemodynamics
- Utilize EPIC for accurate charting, documentation, and communication across the care team
- Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed; strong cardiac arrest and ACLS competency expected
- Float to Heart Center Stepdown or other units as required to support patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Adhere to infection control practices, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Provide weekend and on-call coverage per unit schedule (4 weekend shifts per 8-week period; includes 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 8-week period)
