• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 recent years of PCU/Telemetry experience; cardiac telemetry or progressive care experience preferred
• Active NC RN license or Compact RN license in hand
• ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be current at time of submission)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred; previous charge or leadership experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• One supervisory reference within the last year required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the PCU with a focus on cardiac conditions and telemetry monitoring
• Manage patient assignments of approximately 4–5 patients per nurse depending on acuity
• Perform and manage advanced cardiac therapies and monitoring (e.g., TAVR post-care, cardiac drips, invasive lines, telemetry interpretation, post-cardiac surgery management)
• Administer medications, manage IVs/infusions, and monitor patient responses and hemodynamics
• Utilize EPIC for accurate charting, documentation, and communication across the care team
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed; strong cardiac arrest and ACLS competency expected
• Float to Heart Center Stepdown or other units as required to support patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Adhere to infection control practices, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
• Provide weekend and on-call coverage per unit schedule (4 weekend shifts per 8-week period; includes 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays per 8-week period)
