Job Details

• Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac/Telemetry
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080
• Location: Durham, NC (27710) — North Carolina travel nursing job
• Contract Duration: 10 weeks (April 20, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 7:00am–7:30pm; Nights: 7:00pm–7:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Patient Ratio: 1:3 (Cardiac ICU / Post-op cardiothoracic)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Telemetry or Cardiac ICU experience (critical care)
• Active NC RN license or Compact RN license in-hand
• ACLS and BLS certifications in-hand
• EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• One supervisory reference within the last year
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to cardiothoracic post-op patients in a busy ICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients using central and in-room telemetry systems
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips, blood products, and IV insulin per protocol
• Care for patients with chest tubes, oxygen therapy, pacemakers, central lines, and other attachments
• Float to PCU / Stepdown / IMCU units as needed to support patient flow
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory care, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic medical records
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing training modules; follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
