Job Details
- Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac/Telemetry
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080
- Location: Durham, NC (27710) — North Carolina travel nursing job
- Contract Duration: 10 weeks (April 20, 2026 – June 29, 2026)
- Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 7:00am–7:30pm; Nights: 7:00pm–7:30am)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Patient Ratio: 1:3 (Cardiac ICU / Post-op cardiothoracic)
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac Telemetry or Cardiac ICU experience (critical care)
- Active NC RN license or Compact RN license in-hand
- ACLS and BLS certifications in-hand
- EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- One supervisory reference within the last year
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to cardiothoracic post-op patients in a busy ICU setting
- Monitor and manage patients using central and in-room telemetry systems
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips, blood products, and IV insulin per protocol
- Care for patients with chest tubes, oxygen therapy, pacemakers, central lines, and other attachments
- Float to PCU / Stepdown / IMCU units as needed to support patient flow
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory care, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic medical records
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing training modules; follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
