Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care or hospital setting (acute care SLP, hospital SLP experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with Net Health and ProTouch EMR systems preferred
  • Ability to float to other units (Arlington or Dallas Central) as needed
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary care
  • ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but not required (preferred credential for many hospital SLP roles)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders in a hospital rehab / LTACH setting
  • Conduct bedside swallowing evaluations and collaborate on care plans for dysphagia management
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT/OT, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Document patient progress, outcomes, and skilled therapeutic interventions using Net Health and ProTouch EMR systems
  • Provide patient- and family-centered education and discharge planning support
  • Float to other units within the hospital network (Arlington, Dallas Central) as needed to meet patient care demands
