Required Qualifications (Respiratory Therapist / RRT)
- Current NBRC credential (RRT) and valid state Respiratory Therapist (RT) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- At least one prior travel assignment (travel respiratory therapist experience preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Stroke education/experience preferred
- Previous Meditech experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities & Clinical Skills
- Deliver respiratory care and assessment for patients with respiratory insufficiency, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and post-operative needs
- Manage mechanical ventilation, ventilator setup and adjustments, weaning protocols, and ventilator troubleshooting (Servo-1, Servo-U)
- Provide non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP), high-flow oxygen therapy, and high flow devices
- Perform airway management, suctioning, nebulized treatments, aerosol therapy, and oxygen therapy using cylinders and other devices
- Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and clinical data to guide therapy
- Document all patient care and interventions promptly in Meditech
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff (5–8 staff per shift) across specialties including cardiovascular, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, and bariatrics
- Adhere to hospital policies, maintain patient safety standards, and support quality improvement initiatives
