Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) travel contract in Fort Pierce, Florida. 13-week acute care hospital role for an experienced RRT with critical care and ventilator management skills. Join a Joint Commission–accredited hospital and Certified Primary Stroke Center on Florida's Treasure Coast.
Key Job Details – Respiratory Therapist (Travel RT)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,320 – $1,420
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Contract)
- Shift: 12-hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital (437 beds) – Hospital Respiratory Therapist role
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 6, 2026
- Location: Fort Pierce, FL 34950 (Florida respiratory therapist jobs / Treasure Coast)
Required Qualifications – Respiratory Care
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience (critical care preferred)
- Meditech EMR experience strongly preferred
- Trauma experience is a plus (hospital/trauma center experience)
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Primary Responsibilities – Hospital Respiratory Therapist
- Provide respiratory care and treatment for patients with respiratory insufficiencies (asthma, pneumonia, COPD/emphysema)
- Perform approximately 44–46 respiratory procedures per shift; manage high patient volumes typical of acute care settings
- Hands-on ventilator management using Servo I, Hamilton, V60, and Astral; manage CPAP/BiPAP and invasive ventilation
- Perform ABG collection and analysis, CPT, nebulizer therapy, and other respiratory procedures
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Meditech EMR and follow hospital protocols
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered care culture and active disciplinary approach
