About the Role

We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists (RRT) for a 13-week travel contract on night shift at a busy hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida. This hospital is recognized as a Certified Primary Stroke Center and offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on high-quality patient care. Ideal candidates will have strong acute care and NICU experience and comfort with ventilator management and bedside respiratory procedures.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,320 – $1,420
• Location: Fort Pierce, FL (zip 34950) — Southeast Florida / Indian River County
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 2/9/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Hospital – EAST FLORIDA DIVISION
• Unit: Lawnwood Regional RRT

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• NICU experience required
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Trauma experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced clinical settings

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment, and ongoing evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiency, including asthma, pneumonia, COPD/emphysema, and post-op respiratory needs
• Perform approximately 44–46 respiratory procedures per shift, including airway management and ventilator support
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators (Servo I, Hamilton, V60), CPAP/BiPAP machines (Astral), and other respiratory equipment
• Conduct ABG collection and analysis, administer nebulized therapies, and provide chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement respiratory care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Meditech EMR
• Adhere to hospital policies and dress code (RRT light grey attire)
