• Position: Pre-Op RN / Outpatient Surgery Registered Nurse (Travel)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,310
• Location: Wheeling, WV (26003) — Ohio Valley / West Virginia nursing jobs
• Setting: Outpatient Surgical Center – Pre-Op
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday (6am–2pm, 7am–3pm, 8am–4pm); no call, no holidays
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Charting System: Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• Scrubs: Provided by facility

Qualifications

• Active RN license (willing to wait for license submission)
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in surgical, pre-op, or perioperative setting
• Proficient in IV therapy and medication administration
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor patient status
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred (electronic charting skills a plus)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based pre-operative nursing care for outpatient surgery patients
• Assess and monitor patients, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and vital signs
• Administer IV therapy, medications, and pre-op preparations as ordered
• Coordinate patient flow with RNs, float staff, and nurse aides to maintain efficient perioperative throughput
• Prepare patients for surgery, assist with holding area and endoscopy phone calls as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic EMR
