Job Requirements (OR RN / Perioperative Nurse)

• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN or perioperative nursing experience (scrub and/or circulating roles)
• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state (Colorado nursing jobs)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Proven competency in sterile technique, aseptic practice, instrument handling, and surgical counts
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and perioperative collaboration skills
• Computer proficiency for electronic documentation and online learning

Responsibilities (Operating Room RN)

• Provide perioperative nursing care as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse during a variety of surgical procedures
• Maintain and protect the sterile surgical field, identify and correct potential contamination events
• Assist with instrumentation, passing instruments, and managing surgical counts to ensure patient safety
• Monitor packaging, processing, and integrity of surgical items and trays; prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• Support patient transports, room turnovers, and efficient operating room setup and breakdown
• Participate in pre-op briefings and post-op debriefings; model timely, effective communication with the perioperative team
• Stay current on perioperative technologies, procedures, and equipment relevant to surgical nursing
• Role model professional behavior and principles of a Just Culture; ensure HIPAA compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned to support surgical services and clinical quality
