Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/Telemetry in Akron, OH. 13-week travel nursing assignment for experienced Telemetry/Cardiac Step-Down RNs with recent Epic EMR experience, ACLS, BLS, and stroke assessment skills.

- Unit: 4 West – Cardiac Step-Down/Telemetry & Stroke Overflow (21 beds)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 3, 2026
- End Date: August 1, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel / Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 (occasionally 1:5)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Telemetry RN experience — telemetry nursing, cardiac step-down, or acute care preferred
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required); compact license holders welcome if applicable
- Accredited nursing degree (ACEN or CCNE)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months (must be listed on resume)
- Ability to draw blood and start/manage IVs
- Solid black scrubs required
- Willingness to float to other units as needed to support patient care
- Interview required—please provide availability
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO); no RTO during first two weeks
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality acute care nursing in a cardiac step-down/telemetry and stroke overflow unit
- Continuous telemetry monitoring, patient assessment, and recognition of cardiac and neurologic changes
- Administer medications, manage IVs/infusions, and perform routine procedures (blood draws, lines)
- Document patient care accurately and timely using Epic EMR (electronic medical record)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case managers) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other units as required to meet staffing and patient care needs
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
